Do you manage multiple accounts? Are you tired of the clutter? Well, then we’ve got the short article for you! To be clear, what we will explain here will allow you to hide (or redisplay) accounts in your Accounts dropdown. However, if you want to learn how to filter specific positions WITHIN an accounts, please click here.
As an example, let's use a platform where there are four trading accounts displayed: a Cash account, a Roth IRA, a Traditional IRA, and a Margin account. Let's say we want to clean things up and hide the IRA accounts (purple and orange dots).
How to Remove a Listed Account in the Desktop Platform
Go to Platform Settings Menu>Accounts Module
First, navigate to the desktop platform's Settings. Next, navigate to the “ACCOUNTS” module on the left-hand side. Then, make sure that you have navigated to the Accounts tab within the ACCOUNTS module. Once there, you will see a list of trading accounts linked to your username with colored dots immediately to the left of each entry. Clicking the colored dot next to an account will make the dot turn gray and empty, which indicates that the account is hidden and will no longer list on your platform (illustrated below). When finished, click OK in the bottom left corner of the Settings menu.
Voila, your account will now only display the remaining two accounts. To restore your settings simply return back to the settings menu and reselect the colored dots to the corresponding accounts.
