Before requesting to close your account, it must have a 0.00 balance. You will need to liquidate all of your positions and withdraw your funds. After you have made the withdrawal and the funds have landed in your bank account, send our accounts team an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please write from the email associated with your tastytrade account, list the complete account number, and provide a brief reason for your account closure request.
On the other hand, if you need to step away temporarily, you can leave your account open and unfunded. We do not charge inactivity fees. That way, if you're ready to come back, you can quickly fund your account without having to go through a new account application.
Transferring out your tastytrade account
Are you looking to transfer your account from tastytrade to another broker? In that case, you will need to initiate an Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS) transfer from the receiving broker.
